Interreg France – Wallonie – Vlaanderen
This Interreg program focusses on the economical and social enhancement of the border region between France and Belgium.

Area of focus
in France: the Région Hauts-de-France and the Région Grand Est (only departements Ardennes and Marne);
in Wallonie: the provinces Hainaut, Namur and Luxembourg;
in Flanders: the provinces West-Vlaanderen and Oost-Vlaanderen (only the districts of Gent and Oudenaarde).

Strategic goals
The strategic goals for the France-Wallonie-Vlaanderen program are subdivided into 5 priorities (4 of which are of importance to you as a non-governement body)

Research & Innovation
Supporting business, growth and revival of economic activity through innovation and applied research

Climate & Environment
Strengthening areas’ resilience, cooperation and adaptation to climate change risks

Mobility
Improving cross-border mobility patterns (people and goods) and promoting sustainable, multimodal, urban and rural mobility resilient to climate change

Social Cohesion
Supporting the health, social, cultural and tourist cohesion of the territory

Research & Innovation
1. Developing and strengthening research and innovation capacity and introducing advanced technologies
2. Strengthening sustainable growth and competitiveness of SMEs and job creation in SMEs, including through productive investments

Climate & Environment
1. Promote climate adaptation and disaster risk prevention and resilience, taking into account ecosystem-based approaches.
2. Promoting access to water and sustainable water management
3. Improve the protection and conservation of nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reduce all forms of pollution

Mobility
Develop and strengthen sustainable, climate-resilient, intelligent and intermodal national, regional and local mobility, including improved access to TEN-T and cross-border mobility

Social Cohesion
Improving the effectiveness and inclusiveness of labour markets and access to quality employment by developing social infrastructure and promoting the social economy
Ensure equal access to health care and make health systems more resilient, including primary care, and promote the transition from institutional to family- and community-based care
Strengthening the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation
